DB driven sites - Google refuses to "approve" of my site!

Hello,

I'm in charge of two sites in Puerto Vallarta:
www.virtualvallarta.com
www.mlsvallarta.com

virtualvallarta contains general information on PV, and some info on Puerto Vallarta Real Estate.

My second site (mlsvallarta.com) deals specifically with Real Estate in Puerto Vallarta. It is a database driven site (lasso) which has a PR of 5 and 43 outside links to it. However, I just can't make it rank well. Currently, it ranks on 314th place under the terms "puerto vallarta real estate", with loads of crappy sites ranking before it.

On the other hand, virtualvallarta's real estate page is ranking no. 2 under those same terms.
At one point, about 1 month ago, these sites switched places! mlsvallarta.com went up to no. 2, and virtualvallarta's real estate section went down to like 100th place.

Can anyone tell me why mlsvallarta.com doesn't rank well? Is it because it's db driven?

1. Being DB driven has nothing to do with it in your case. You have 47 pages indexed in the google db...if there was a problem, you would have none.

Are you familiar with SEO (search engine optimizatoin) techniques? There are a lot of basic things that you can start looking at. Having some keyword text in your image alt tags. Just at a quick glance, it did not seem that you had the key phrases placed prominently in your copy on the site. I would also think about using them in some <h1> or <h2> tags. These are just some basic items but ones that should help your site(s) to improve pretty dramatically.

Thanks for your response.
I am familiar with SEO techniques; I've used them and that's part of my concern.
I must agree, though, that I hadn't used <h1> and <h2> header tags... as a matter of fact I just changed them.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks

I took a look at your site and some of the others and you are right they are... umm... "Crappy."
Anyway, are your sites on the same server using the same IP address?

According to WhoIs.sc both site are on seperate servers. One in Canada and the other in the USA. Different Name Servers too.

I was curious how his other sites were doing (Puerto Vallarta Rentals & Mexico Boutique Hotels). Same problems with those? Or are they doing okay?
