I bet you have noticed that google has started a new project IGOOGLE that is closer to yahoo.

What do you think about this project ?
Is google trying to gain more of yahoo users with this ?

Personaly i use google because it's not yahoo and doesnt have all that pictures, flash and banner, but that's just me

I think it has Yahoo all over it! The name is too.. Apple.. for my liking: why couldn't they have left it as it was (without a name

The product is, however, quite good: it manages to allow you to add notes and stuff without looking as cluttered as the dreaded Yahoo

...but it's just the name...

I did notice that, and as a Windows guy, I was quite disapointed with Google. The whole iThing just really screams Apple to me. Im not sure why they would pick that name. Anyway, I am just excited for Google's new Analytics software. That should be good.

it have to evolve and grow.
just IMO... google will not be 'google the search engine' in the future.
dont know what it will become, another.. nothing.

I use iGoogle since it was named Google Personalized Startpage. Now since it is iGoogle, I made a iGoogle feed for my users. If you want to see it or use it. http://www.tinycut.net/feedmygoogle.xml

Its not a bad product, is quite useful but really the naming convention is just a bit off. Google usually puts a bit more thought into its name.

I set it up with all the stories and stuff and links to all my sites yada,yada. But I just could not stand it as my home page for google search because of the placement of the search box. It drove me crazy. so I just changes home page back to regular google.

iGoogle is yet another clumsy attempt to compete with Yahoo. Don't get me wrong, I like Google. But it's going to take an awful lot of work to even compete with my.yahoo. Personally it reminds me of having a myspace account.

I dont think igoogle is trying to COMPETE so much with yahoo as it is trying to REPLICATE Yahoo!
