Hi,
I've had a great helpful hints so far from you webmasters out there. I'm taking them to heed but I'm wondering....

What about links embedded in a image? For example my lamp is linked to another page describing in more detail the item. Would it be beneficial to have another link from the photo to this description page or is this a waste of time?

Also, What about over text on images with some key words embedded as well?

Any input would be well appreciated.

Spiders will follow linked images and they do see alt text. But a text link with accurate anchor text is always going to be far better,.

I would say don't link with the image, Link with text that describes the page you are linking to..

Definitely link the images; that's just good for useability. People expect to be able to click on most images on the web and for something to happen. You can put a text caption underneath the image and have it both ways, though.

SEs can't "see" images.

I always do both, linked text caption and linked image with alt text
