Hello All, nice site here.

I paid for SEO through what I thought was a reputable company, was gauranteed results, and 5 months later I still don't show up in a search for my key words. I have a page rank on my home page of 4 and 3 on all my internal pages, but I don't show up in a search on 79 pages of listings.

I'm afraid to pay someone again, as I am now out the coin I spent with my first SEO. But I am an online merchant and adwords is breaking my back.....

What I don't understand is, how can I have decent page rank (highest in my key word competition is PR5) but not show up in listings?

I just don't have time to run my business and try to figure out SEO at the same time, but it's costing me major dollars.

Any advice would be helpful.

Not all SEO Companies are created equal.

One thing I like to note on my site is that no one can guarantee results when it comes to SEO and search engine placement.

What did they guarantee you, optimization, submission etc.?

What key words are you targeting? If they are popular it will be harder to get listed. You can try and target more keywords exact to your site. i.e. instead of "widgets" you can put "texas red widgets".

You may want to try to and take the time to optimize your pages yourself and lay off adwords for bit. This way the money in "time" you spend with optimization will replace the money you spend on adwords. Or you can re evaluate your keywords and make the cost a little less by choosing keywords mentioned above. An hour or two a day can save you $$ , get you listed and shown in results which will then make you $$.

There is a lot of free info and tools available on the web. (my site included )

Good Luck

I think I found one of my problems. On anothe thread here it mentioned that google rates your site by the links pointing at it and the relevance to your sites key words. Seems my former SEo guy linked me to his page for SEO as well as to a bankruptsy attorney and some other trash. So since I am selling Harley Parts, these non-harley parts links must be telling google not to list me in the Harley parts category. Is this correct thinking?

I have PR of 4 on index and 3 on all internals, so why else would I not show up in and of the pages for a search for Harley parts?

www.cyclespot.com

If this is truly my problem, how do I get rid of the non-harley related links, and how do I find someone who can get me a relevant backlinking campaign going that will get me listed in my category?

Sorry for all the Newbie questions.

You don't need to worry about getting rid of any of the existing links, they won't count "against" you. You need concentrate on getting lots of inbound links that use your keywords in the anchortext.

There are thousands of places that offer link advertising sales. You can find a bunch of options by searching the various seo forums on the Internet.

Also if anyone could look at the site and explain to me why I have PR4 and not listed I would appreciate it. I am in the market for a new SEO person, but this time I need to see results.

What's the URL?

---edit---

Found it...

Whoever did that job, really didn't have a clue.

In order for the site to do better, I suggest a couple of things.

Firstly, a redesign. Use CSS and XHTML to produce a really clean looking page, with lots of content for the SE's - the articles you have already is a good start.

Secondly, I would get rid of the image navigation. Use text links instead.

Thirdly, Target the Keywords and Description and title and H1 to be page specific.

Fourthly, Get some quality backlinks. Submit the site to DMOZ and all other directories related to Harley repair or sales or anything like that.

----------------------------------

I can't guarantee results (If anyone says they can, run for the hills) but I can certianly give it a go...

Look at buying in links for you keywords (Your basically cutting out the middle man), their are quite a few places you can do it but first use this tool:

http://www.related-pages.com/searchE...Selection.aspx

If you type in the keyword you want to compete on, it will tell you how many people search on that term and howmany In bound link would would require that basically gives you the competition. If you find a phrase with little compertition and a lot of traffic, then it may well be well worth buying in some links pointing at that.

Ow and don't worry too much about the page that it come from the Achor text has the biggest influence.
