Please can you help me I am about to launch a dating website in a few months

Now ive been told to use long keywords at first as I will rank quicker for e.g.

UK dating singles in the Manchester area
UK speed dating for UK online dating singles

As in time I will rank for say UK dating or UK speed dating but this will take time is this true?

Also please can you tell me how many one way links is safe to make each month?

I think around 35 will do

This will be broke down to

18 page rank 1-2
11 page rank 3-4
5 page rank 5-6
1 page rank 7-8 depending on price I might get an extra page rank 5-6

This will be done every month

Mate, You couldn't be more wrong if you tried.

For yet another dating site among millions it won't matter if you get 1 link a week or 10,000 links a day,
You will have nothing unique or even remotely new for search engines to even waste the tiniest amount of time indexing, never mind ranking your pages.
Hope you didn't pay a lot for your turnkey site.
'cos whatever it was, you'd better also have a large wallet to pay for the PPC to drive traffic for the first 4 years or so.

It's safe to get millions of links in a day if they're warranted. When Adobe releases a new version of Photoshop do you want to guess how many links spring up? Don't think Google punishes this.

That is totally the wrong way round.

Single word and two word phrases are by their nature more competitive, so are more difficult to target no matter what the market place.

Pages with more history begin to rank naturally for shorter phrases or single word queries as they garner natural links and references to them.

The only proviso being that it is for real words and not "made up" words for testing purposes.
