First of let me start of by saying that in no way im trying to advertise this site, but I came across it while searching the google and im slightly intriqued.

my clear sense, this is riddicilous and cannot work - as it is in the lines of those money scams. but regadless, anyone more wise, could ya tell me if that thing could actually work???

this is the website for them
http:// www .freeviral.com

p.s. i hope this is right forum for it, if not feel free to move it to right one

There are a few things that set off flags:
  • They guarantee "lots" of traffic, without explaining how much that actually means. So, as long as you get one visitor, they've met their guarantee.
  • They're talking about you building a new site on their network. Meaning the traffic hits their domain.
  • Traditional pyramid scheme with a minor twist.
  • The traffic they're promising is mostly other site owners waiting a few seconds for theirs to appear.
  • The writing is terrible. For a site that promises to make you the great communicator, that really doesn't inspire confidence.

I'm nearly 100% positive that this service is many years old. . . I think I stumbled across it back when I plugged in to the internet back in 2002.

In any case, the traffic you'll receive will mostly be worthless - there are other ways to promote your site "virally".

I don't think it's much different than a manual surf program where you're forced to view someone elses website in exchange for someone else viewing yours - only using a service like the one you mentioned has the potential of many more visitors.

But. . . a viral marketing tactic from 5+ years ago that was free to begin with. . . probably saturated and not worth the effort, imo.

I thought this was hilarious..

Actually, you get a penny, the same one you started with (maybe two depending on how you look at it). Or if you want to look a it cumulatively you will still only have $0.31.

Just screams out scam to me, based simply on how it was described in the initial post. I didn't click the link, but apparently it's so bad someone had to use bullet points to explain why.

There was a software company that made some headlines, putting language in their EULA saying the first person to call in about it would be given $10,000. It took a few months before someone claimed it, because nobody read the agreement. I don't blame them ... but sometimes it makes sense to look deeper even when you think you know the answer.

I can see none of you checked out the most important part of the offer- their "CONSERATIVE EXAMPLE" "We can't spell but man can we bring home the traffic!"

Well - now I really don't know what to think, I actually signed up for several of my websites cuz it seemed like a good deal after I went through and read it.

Now - it's either their method is complete bunk, or their entire user base is made up of people who cannot spell either. I guess I can't spell. . . I missed it.

The earliest record in the web archive is from November of 2001 for this website:

http://web.archive.org/web/200111141...freeviral.com/

So. . . if their method works, that means that they've had 1 million visitors per month since 2001. . . . roughly 60-70 million visitors - and they haven't been notified of the typo yet? Man, what a bummer. I was looking forward to a boatload of fresh, targeted website visitors.

In their defense, I can't spell either ... I'm really glad they built a spell check into FireFox. I missed that typo, although the quality of the writing is pretty bad in general. I'm sure there are a few typos and misspellings on my site, although after I finish making it IE 6 tolerable, spell check is my next priority.

Their "offer" is bunk for a lot more than just bad spelling!
