Did any of you webmasters get a call from your users that when they did a google search, google warns them that your site is judged to be the distributors of badwares and use your site at their own risk?

Two of my sites got hit with this bad practice by Google.

Google is acting as God not even letting webmasters like me know of beforehand what they are going to do with such malicious warning to the world... If my site had malwares, I feel that I got already victimized by those badware people, and then now twice victimized by Google...

At first I thought StopBadWare.org was trying to sell me their protection etc.. but with only one acess to apeal to them... it's too frustrating...

This has nothing to do with you. It's about preventing your users from being victimized by malware. Are you suggesting Google should let your users be infected to avoid hurting your feelings? The site is called StopBadware, not PromoteWebsites. You're probably better off just removing the badware.

Personally, I'd be happy they're shielding me from at least a little bit of liability. Some idiot who doesn't run an antivirus or understand badware might stop before visiting your site, and then not sue you because they never got infected by you.

How much more warning do you want, and what did you do to your sites to merit this warning? Badware warnings usually aren't issued for no reason.

In other words, what's the flip side of the coin?

I think this process can still be improved, but at the same time, we’ve heard very positive reactions from users that don’t want to click on potential malware pages. Ultimately I think it helps to alert webmasters that they may be serving up malware to their visitors, because if a site has been hacked it’s good to know about that quickly.
Really? What a surprise!

Update: Looks like the webmaster console team has now added example urls for sites that we think are hosting malware. This is a great step to give webmasters more tools to self-diagnose any malware-related issues with their site. As always, thanks to the folks who added this feature.
Notice the part about all the complaining, and how they haven't found a single false positive yet.

Now it's possible your site got hacked without you knowing about it. If that's the case, this is much better than you finding out about it by getting death threats from people whose computers were hijacked.
