There is no "best way" for all phrases. That's where "SEO by numbers" falls apart.

Pages & phrases each have a combination that works, what works on page A for phrase A may not work on page B with phrase B.
This is where the REAL skill in SEO comes in.

To get a page into the top 10 you have to get the right combination of factors slightly better than the page that is a number 11.

Sure, just about any phrase can be "link-bombed" to the top, if you really want to work that hard begging links or spend that much money buying them.

Or just talk a lot on a forum, and get some thank you very much. I like you are very smart.

Different variations of targeted keywords can help you improved rankings.

Ok, Borat.

You can talk a lot on a forum, but if you're doing it to SEO your site, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Have you even seen the Google PageRank formula? One would expect to before posting in a Google search engine optimization forum.

Do you know that if a page has two outbound links, each of them only gets half the power vested in that page? That's according to the formula Google published. If a page has four links, each of them gets 25 % of whatever link juice the page has to give. Heck, just responding to this post, I'm taking some power away from your signature links and giving a little of it to my blog.

It's widely speculated that Google only counts a few links from any particular domain. I've got more than a thousand posts here, with links at the bottom pointing to my blog, and guess what? It doesn't come up for much of anything. These links are very easy to get, and from a single domain, and on pages with buttloads of other links, so they count for almost nothing in Google's eyes.

On the other hand, I tend to post useful messages, that are insightful at least if you're as wet behind the ears as I am. Sometimes people like my opinion, and want to hear more, so they click on whichever sig link catches their interest, or on the "latest post" link if the title catches their eye. Posting messages in a forum just for the links in your signature is called "spam."

I am not posting JUST for signature links. I have helped many people already =) so bite me.

LennonFreak being on of them. I taught em how to anchor text. (i am not only posting here and it is not just for the links I know they count for less because more is there) but that is what happens I have done enough talking around forums, I know anchor text links help.

Widely speculated is untrue as my link count has went up almost double. Not to say that I have only posted here but this has been part of it. I'm sure.

I have maybe 25 links anchor text up with double the strength that put me on Webmaster Freebies. So I am also moving up on all the search engine rankings u see in my signature. But I agree much information is widely disputed, just keep to what works for you.

(MIND TELLING ME HOW TO ADD A BLOG TO MY THING) Because I don't know how to do that. ty.

You've made it extremely clear that you have NO IDEA what anchor text is or means. Hint: it's not a verb. A shocker, I know.

The problem being of course is the people who know what they know have absolutely no idea what they don't know.

An old adage about empty vessels springs to mind.

That's probably because you spend your time telling us what you already know, instead of actually reading and learning from the good information that is already here.
