I was really surprised at the response that I read in the market forum over here regarding achieving a higher Pagerank posted by a few of the experts.I have been working in SEO since last one year and had never heard of such quick results. Can anybody explain to me how is it possible to get a PR4 from the current PR 3 in such a short span?

Google updates the almost meaningless toolbar page rank three or four times a year, so I guess if you checked immediately before and after a data push that would do it.

I doubt that any of the real experts talking about an increase in PR, unless they were debunking someone's wild theory about how toolbar PR is important.

According to Google, more specifically Matt Cutts, PageRank updates all of the time. Every day in fact. Toolbar PageRank updates, the PageRank you and I see and get to research on sites, update every 3-4 months.
The PageRank that updates daily is your ranking for specific search terms, etc etc.
There is really no such thing as obtaining a Google PageRank in 15-20 days through notice of the toolbar. Good marketing, however, will increase your rankings and PageRank and Google in 15-20 days.

The other theory is that the experts who make these claims (and I use the word "experts" loosely) are link-obsessed idiots who believe that the green portion of the PageRank indicator in the toolbar is the sole factor in search engine marketing.
In other words, the claim they make isn't worth giving a **** over because it means absolutely nothing.

But still everyone looks at PR as a sort of a guide. Although not 100 percentage accurate, if you don't have any other means to gauge a site, PR can be used.

Quite simply. Us "Seo experts" just know the general time line of when the next PR(page rank) update is going to come up. All you have to do is make sure you have enough links, linking into your site from high PR sites that you are good. Often adding a directory list of high (free) PR directories to your favroites for some nights is your best bet, if you want your PR to go up. Content also matter Uniqe content.. My site BGOD is going to be PR 4 or PR5 it's currently PR0 and it's first update, it says predicted pagerank of pr 4. By putting up a good amount of links, that one way link to your site is the way to get fast results. Hard work = good results just remeber on that.

Gauge a site for what? Quality? Traffic? Potential ROI? Whether or not it would be worth it for an advertiser?
There are means to measure any of these things, and PageRank isn't the best means in any of these cases.

Another type of guide you could use, is Alexa ranking, althought we all know this can be easy manipulated. It still is another way to track the progress of your site through Alexa's search engine. =) I love the Alexa toolbar lol.. This sites Alexa is 5,165 which is not bad at all And increasing your alexa can increase your traffic from alexa's search engine.

Sorry to veer off the super-important topic of the little green bar, but here's a much needed free tip for Chris aka Vasity:
It's "autistic child" not "autism child." Really really really simple mistakes like that hurt your site a lot. If someone finds you, looking for info on how to help someone they know who's autistic, if they even think for a second they might know more than you do about the topic, they're going to leave.
Also, while it looks like you're just trying to cram the word "autism" in there as much as possible, you won't even come up in a search for "What could make someone autistic?" I try to optimize for as many forms of a word of phrase as possible. Think: Alps, Alpine, Alp Range, Alp Mountains, and so on.
Replace "all in one shots for medical purposes blah blah blah" with immunizations. That's what you're talking about, and again being vague and avoiding the actual term just doesn't help you in any way.
This broadcast is brought to you by the letter F.

P.S.
woops....lol.
I think they are fine. O_o I should go for more then one search phrase though. I will have to do that at a later date...to many projects.

This is how it works.
Good sites get high PR
High PR sites aren't necessarily good sites.
PR is the effect of having a good site, Not the cause of it.
PR, Of any amount, Can be purchased.

Only Google knows when they are going to update the toolbar. They have typically updated it every three months or so, but they have done it sooner and they have done it later. There's is no way for you to know when they will update it.

Hate to break it to you, but those PR predictors are some of the most inaccurate tools you'll ever see. I hope you don't really believe you're going to see the PR they predict.

O_O.
I am not 100% I will see the PR that they say, although my site is attached to 200+ PR-4 websites o_O. lol.
We will see what happens.. If I wanted a HIGH PR site though, I would buy one for 60$ lol.... I want to see how high I can get my own PR.
Anyways, that thing (site ) will most likley be being changed anyways..I found a much better (non-adsense) way to monitize it..although it will change it's entire theme.

You probably know quite a bit more than I do about autism. But that doesn't come across from looking at your blog. I think you could reduce you bounce rate by improving your content. I'm not saying this to make fun of you; there were a pair of autistic twins in one of the towns I grew up in, so I had a look at your site out of interest. I didn't stay very long, though, and when that happens on my site, I'd love to know why...

Web sites don't have PageRank. Web pages do. My home page is 3, a lot of my sub pages are 4, my links page is 2. For each page, the amount of love I can send out gets divided between all my outgoing links. And that's not something Google only does to my site. Not that it really matters, PR is only used as a tie breaker when two pages seem to have the same relevance for a query. Otherwise, a page that's PR 1 can outrank a PR 9 page if it's closer to what the search engine thinks the person is looking for. Happens all the time.

Thank you. I will have to revise all of them. Going to ask my brothers wife how much she would charge me to revise all of articles on the site. =) all long with all of my sites (she has a MA in English Compisition) so she should be able to help me fix some problems. I do like that you visited my link and told me the problem.
And I know that about pages , but makes solid sence.

I don't know if it's possible. But you can try. Buy about this period a few links and see what will happen at the end of this month.

PR is just a rate from 1-10 given by google just to show the importance of your site to them but it is not necessarily that important...and the span of time you say of having it is maybe possible if you improve your link popularity
before the update has been conducted...
