Multiple domain to same page

I have purchased several domains to point to my website and would like them all indexed by google (increase the chances of people reaching my site by searching for keywords contained in the URLs). Is this possible, if so how best to do it? Currently I simply have the other URLs redirecting to the main URL but google isn't picking them up.

Hi Graham,

Firstly, buying up domains and pointing them at another domain to try and get more traffic isn't really a good traffic building strategy.

In order to get your content free domains indexed by Google you will have to convince Google to spider them. You can do this by placing incoming links to these domains on enough sites that eventually Google spiders them. But what will Google find when it arrives? No content + a re-direct. This is more likely to lower your ranking in Google and reduce traffic than help you get more traffic.

The best way to get more traffic is to have a lot of good quality content on your web site. Multiple phrases bring in more visitors who find you for less competitive search terms. If, when they arrive, they find rich content, they will not only bookmark your site, they may link to it or recommend it to friends. This is the best organic method of building traffic.

If you insist on doing the domain redirects, be sure they are 301 permanent redirects (SE friendly).

I think he meant having all the domains go to the same place, but not redirecting them.

Useless waste of time.
