Is it just me or is it taking longer these days for google to find our backwords links? I have some sites that have been linked to for 5 months at PR3+ sites and still those are not accounted for. I am losing faith in Google Rank.

It may take longer for them to let us know about them, But they count as soon as they find them.

i wouldn't worry about google showing your backlinks. just do what you are doing and continue that. you should see good results in the search engines if you keep it up.

I disagree. The more links you get, the higher SERPs you are going to achieve. They are directly related.

Oh, really? And what about links from internal networks, emails that are passed around, nofollow links, and links that go through a CGI redirect script?

brotherZ: read the link I posted. Then reread it. Then read it a third time. And keep reading it until it sinks in. That link is the light...go to the light. Brian will teach you. He is Almighty Google Guy #3 (behind Matt and Adam). He will show you, if you follow him.

That depends. Is Google's primary role to provide a search engine for the public to find things on the overwhelming jungle of data we know and love, or is Google's primary role to provide reports to people who own web sites? And do it for free, I might add.
