What is google bombing?

google bombing is when a lot of links with the same anchor text point to a page with the intention of making that page rank well for that term. A classic example is when people got george bush's biography page as the #1 result in google for the search term missreable failre.

And for the record, typically when someone says "Google Bombing" they mean associating a site they're not in control of or don't own - like Bush's official bio - with a phrase that's got more to do with politics or a joke than with anything you would call seo.

It's also spam to promote your own web site by monopolizing a term dropping links all over other peoples' sites.

The best approach to seo is to build sites that stand out and get links organically. Anything else is short term and a constant chase. Google diffused their bomb.

So how we use link exchange with other websites so that we can get top position for particular term??

Mostly by not exchanging links with sites that don't benefit your visitors. And also by not linking to sites Google doesn't like.
