I am wondering how many backlinks does it require for it to be page rank 2? Since I have page rank, now I am ready for the step 2 out of ten. Any advice for it to be increase PR 2?
Plus, if any one wonder when next google update, it's in about 90 days.

There's no set number, since 1) external PageRank is a relative scale based on everyone else's inbound links and 2) it can vary depending on the quality of the inbound links you receive.
However...this isn't your bigger issue. You've got your priorities mixed up. Chasing external PageRank won't do you any good in the long run, contrary to prevailing SEO opinion. What you want to get are the kind of links that are organic and send you traffic. In other words, quality links that are earned.
Don't do silly link exchanges or schemes or buying links for SEO purposes. Just go out and earn some nice high-quality links and build something users will want to visit that's unique, and you'll be fine.

Again, that's a goal that you shouldn't be chasing. It's a number that ultimately means nothing. Go after the kinds of links that will send you traffic...then the other stuff falls out from that.

I have never chased backlinks and I have sites with PR4-5, then again I have some sites with PR0-1 which get more traffic. Ultimatly PageRank is meaningless, what you should be striving for is quality content, if the content is there the links will follow.

More backlinks doesn't mean that you reach a high PR. It counts when it is with relevant content or it is a good link.

And PR has almost nothing to do with where you land when someone does a search. It's a view from 10,000 feet at best.
What's the reason you're running your web site? Do you have a product to sell? Are you running ads that you hope people will click so you can earn something for your efforts? I mean, it's a great way to express yourself and give your ideas a global reach ... but most people with web sites tend to put in the effort for more reason than that.
So, if you're trying to sell something, you want to do well against keywords that will bring you good, qualified traffic. You also want traffic coming in from as many non-search sources as possible. That's what ultimately puts money in your account, if that's why you're running a site. PR won't help with any of that.

If your site only had one external link, but it was from Google's home page, or from WordPress's, that alone might get you a pagerank of 4 or 5. Part of how PR is calculated and assigned depends on the quality of each link ... with paid links being an exception.
So if you want PR for its own sake, the things that are likely to bring you customers, like talking to people in your field and in related fields, which will earn you some links to your site, will also raise your PR over time. It's interesting that sites that do what they need to be successful tend to have good PR as a side effect ... but you can narrow your focus and get PR only by dropping links anywhere on the web, mostly on pages no human will ever look at, and not get any success out of that.

It's okay, dude, you don't need to thank people for every post. We're here to help. If the advice makes your site better that's reason enough for everyone to have posted it.
Cheers!
