Hiyas, my website comespanish.com is linked to from this site: http://www.studyspanish.com/links/fun.htm

It's the first result when you search "learn spanish" and I assume the most popular spanish learning website on the internet. But google won't recognise the link, when I use one of those tools which says how many links there are to my site, google comes up 0.

The link is working because I get a lot of visitors every month from it... Google just won't recognise it. And it's been there for 2 months so that should be long enough yeah?

It's important because my site is getting totally killed in google..it's almost impossible to find it now. Does anyone know what's happening? thanks!

Yes I know I have the same problem with links to my site. Have you tried yahoo and live search? Do they show the link?

it may count, it may not.

The link: operator has never worked as people expected it to and updates and changes over the years have made it increasingly inaccurate.

If it sends real visitors, then it's an excellent link and there is absolutely no need to care whether Google shows it or not.

The question is...are you using the webmaster tool?

You'll have a much better idea of the number of links Google recognizes for a particular page (or site) using the Webmaster Tools console. The only downside is that it shows both followed and nofollowed links in the same cluster.

Like Chris said, though, the link is only a quality link if it sends traffic. If it doesn't, any SEO benefit (real or imagined) won't make up for that.

If I'm not mistaken, assuming the link will eventually show up, I think you'll need to wait at least until the next Google PR update. In general that's probably going to be longer than 2 months.

Well, if that link providing you traffic that s good, you should not worry about that google is considering it or not the main thing is traffic and that you are getting, but still you are worry about than just have a patience and wait until next PR updation, this link will be sure shown by google...
