Hi, Not sure if I am in the right forum to ask this question, But I need help, Straight forward talking as I am newbie,

Could you please explain to me what RSS is and what it does.

I have come across the saying when i have been submitting my site, but dont know what it is or why you might need it.

Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb, but would really like your help.

It's basically a syndication feed that grabs your posts, for people to read and understand easily (Possible so they wouldn't have to visit to every individual blog to find out what they wrote about, or whatever reason).

RSS is about syndicating your content to make it easier for other people to republish it and also to allow people to read your content without having to visit your site directly. It might not sound like it, but it can be a good way to get more people reading your content.

As an end user I enjoy it because I can quickly see when a site has new content without having to visit them. I can read their content in my feed reader or visit the site if I choose.
