The Other Search Engines

Can you get in trouble or booted from search engines for owning more than 1 domain in the same section of a search engine, for example owning the top 4 sites in say the hosting section.. someone types in hosting and you own all 4 site listed at the top, can you get in trouble for this yes ?? no??

How do the search engines know??

any input would be great!

It is believed that a who is check is part of the Google algo- but I have never seen any proof of this.... As long as all the sites are unique and different - you should have no problem... If you link to each other and there all on the same IP range, you could have a problem..

So if you had 5 sites, all unique and they where hosted with several hosting companies and the who is was all diff... then there shouldnt be a problem..

Create different business etities for your sites and use different credits cards and billing addresses if you are worried about it.
