Hallo

I'm new to this forum and have joined because I am having trouble getting my websites listed. I've submitted to all the search engines individually and using one of those forms that sends to various search engines.

However, they are still not getting listed - I'm obviously doing something wrong with the descriptions in the meta tag area. I tried using one of those meta tag and description generators, but nothing's happened. It's getting really annoying - can anyone help please? My website(it's for family history etc) is www.lmchappell.demon.co.uk and I'm also practising on a 'hobby' website www.heritagenewsandreviews.org.uk. Any suggestions would be gratefully received

Many thanks
nyl

Maybe it would be better submitting your site to the search engines individually by yourself..

The main SE you want to be added to is Google.. www.google.com/addurl

Also modern search engines like google dont use meta tags.. they just search the content of the page to give more relevant results

Also I dont know if its just me but both your sites are blank.. so they wont get listed if their isnt nothing on them.. you need to add content then submit them to SEs

Your demon website appears to be blank so that'll be your problem with that one.
A good listing on Google is not simply a matter of submitting your site and sitting back (unfortunately!)
You need to build up back links with other sites, make sure you have plenty of good content, simple to follow navigation, etc.

Try doing a search for help on improving your listing.
Have a quick look at this one for a starter: http://www.smartwebby.com/website_promotion/google.asp

Also note that multiple submissions to search engines will likely get your site banned.
