Yahoo Renews With Google, Changes Results...

Yahoo! has changed the way it displays search results.
If you're No.1 at Google, you're probably now No.1 at Yahoo! as
well.
Yahoo! directory results and Google web pages are now combined to provide new "Web Matches".
Getting a high ranking in Google is even more important
than ever.
Danny Sullivan's article explains it all:
http://www.searchenginewatch.com/ser.../10-yahoo.html
Many junky word-hyphen-word-hyphen-word.com sites that were
created specifically to get a high ranking in Yahoo! have dropped
like a stone - unless they also had a high ranking in Google.
Such sites will now have to try to improve their PageRank and the
100 other factors that Google says it takes into account when it
ranks pages.
It's still useful to be in the Yahoo! directory, and being
in Yahoo! helps your ranking in Google, which boosts your ranking
in Yahoo!

Number 2 on Yahoo!
This is amazing. I'm just glad I didn't pay $300 for inclusion in the directory.

yes it does, its just cool how search engines are uniting now to do this kind of stuff.
what sucks though, is that your always going to be 1st in all engines. it is good, but can be bad.
other websites will not be recognized unless they are in the top 20 on all engines.

your're right if your below the top 20 or so you might not even be seen if you rank less than 20, because some people don't even bother going to the second search result page

yes, and since all search engines are teh same, whats the point of going to yahoo or google, it will just be a random thing now.
i think its better that each search has different ways of ranking people, that way, if you dont find what you are looking for in google, you use yahoo, or altavista.
now your pretty screwed if you cant find what you are looking for.

Unfortunately that particular site would have had to be under the 'Business & Economy' section of the directory, so I would have to use Yahoo Express:
Quote:
7-Day Guarantee
US$299.00 non-refundable, recurring annual fee · Required for commercial listings but available for any site
· Guaranteed and expedited consideration of your site
within 7 business days
