Link exchange is good especially if it's relevant to your site but don't overdo this as this could also hurt your site. A site that has more outbound link is not good.

You are wrong about your fourth example "Forum Sigs"!

Most webmasters/admin for reasons related to SEO - if they know what they are doing - have things set so after about a month or so (depending on the forum admin) to become "archived".

Once a thread or the posts are "archived" the sig links and "in most cases" the links in posts cease to be live and would either need to be copy and pasted into a browser or accessed another way that did not include a click on a link, as the http / html element is stripped out of most archived docs online in many forums.

To get backlinks only do submission in dofollow high page ranked sites. use your own content and must not be copied from anywhere else. this will helps you a lot.

There are many ways here's a few;

Post Linking - When a link is made to your blog from another blog, if activated, it places a link in that blogs comments back to the relevant post. This will help increase back links to your blog and therefore increase traffic.

Probably the best decision I ever made was to made a list of my online blog competitors, and then ask to guest post on all of them. High PR blogs you can guest post on are (IMHO) the best backlinks you can get.

The best way to build backlinks is to build links. Also the best way to put links is in the content this can also help traffic for the reader will click on the link inside the content. There are different ways to build backlinks and they really helpful to increase the SERPs.

So it means that forum signature links are not substantial in PR ranking?
