Trying search engine submissions is a good idea. Also using social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Zing, Wordpress, Blogger etc..can prove to be very effective.

It is better to submission only on high PR and dofollow sites. I think it is better to focusing on website content. Always use original content because duplicate content generally occupy low ranking as comparison to original content.
