forum posting,
social book marking,
blog commenting,
Article submission,
Directory submission.
Social bookmarking sites will send you traffic some almost instantly. Hard to say how much of the traffic will actually be interested in your site though. Many times they just click the link to your site, and then they are gone a few seconds later.

i'm still building my traffic as well. what I did was repeatedly google the topic with as many combinations of tags i could think of for search queries as possible.
i'd personally suggest that you dont do adwords/facebookads/etc. paid advertising unless you have a vast amount of money (100+ a week) to spend on it...because i believe you may get a good amount of clicks but if they don't like they layout, or it takes too long to understand the concept, or they just clicked your ad by an accident then that's money wasted that could of been going toward a hosting package or something when you could have been advertising for free...that's what I think however many people have gained a good amount of traffic doing so...
Social media is the one which helps you to get maximum traffic in which Digg, twitter, stumbleupon and facebook is one of those big social media site you should work on
make sure that your site submitted in good pr web site and it will take some time to someone visit your site. if you want more traffic to your site then go for google add word it increase traffics to your site.

Yes you are right what all the process you have done is right but still it's not working out then you can try to promote the site in social networking sites like twitter, face book, because the last option is to try social networking.
