Hi guys,

Can someone please tell me the tips and tricks to optimize a website for bing. What are the ranking factors used by Bing?

I think the algo of Bing goes with contents, keyword stuffing and i think Tweets...Not exactly sure about this..

But today its better to optimize for Google unless you know that most number of your visitors can come from Bing alone...

Although no body knows for sure what the algorithms are for each of the search engines, there are a few guaranteed SEO tactics that you can use to improve your search results across the board for every search engine.
A well designed link acquisition campaign for a variety of keywords will improve your results.

I've found as long as you optimise for google, Bing will pick you up just fine.

( I rank higher in bing for a lot of my keywords, But still rank ok in google and slowly climbing with more and more referrals every week )

I think your SEO toolkit should be:

- Write a website people will want to visit and has the information / tools on it that people want.
- Make sure to use your keywords ( But not too much )
- Insert unique meta keywords and descriptions for each page that is relevant to your content.
- Use decent anchor text and link names. Ie: About shoudl goto about.php or about_us.php etc.

EVER think that maybe one targeted set of keywords on google are so dense that they might be lighter or there may be next to zero competition on bing? / Yahoo.?

It sometimes makes sense to ignore google and go for bing and yahoo.

You can spend forever trying to reach front page and never get there, Resulting in a few hundred hits a day from google.

However the same amount of effort may bring you 1000+ hits from bing and yahoo.

The internet does NOT start and end with google.

Yes google hold a major stake in search traffic, But even 1% of traffic is a LOT of people and sometimes people ( Esp SEO ) people tend to ignore the blatant goldmine of visitors that are bing and yahoo.

Food for thought there people.

I find that Bing gives more weight to domain name than Google does.

1. Join forums

2. Submit to search engine directories.

3. Using ezine ads (or newsletters).

4. Creating and publishing articles.

5. Links from related websites.

So, this are the few steps that will help you to increase your page rank in bing

Bing is also good and user friendly. You just work through the competitive search engine automatic you get the result.

I'm not too sure how to rank on Bing, I'm asking the same as well. I had a personal view why there is a need to rank in Bing.

I recently been to a customer's office and I realise that most of the computers (dell) that they brought had the default homepage set to MSN and uses bing as search engine.

For IT savvy people that's not a problem at all, for people who are older and younger (beginner in using PC) stand a good chance adapt to using Bing. Chances are Bing might open an opportunity where their users are newbies and freshies that might be good for adsense or affiliates.

But as of now, my experience with Bing is far from being statisfied - just my two cent
