I have seen many people and firms offering same kinds of services and give big promises for better ranking. But according to me , this works previously not now. Now seo became more complex and each day new methods are being found to increase back links..
I think if you have time do it.because overall its not harm to your site but if you can submit to Demos and get approve from them, then its more valuable
Search engine submission is still a good technique in SEO. The thing is SEO is adding more and more techniques and sticking into one can leave you behind. If you combine the old techniques with the new ones you can be back on track.

The purpose of search engine submission is to index your site in search engine so i think there are a lot of other best ways to index your site like analytic submission if you use analytic submission your site will be indexed in one hour.
