The new MSN (http://search.msn.com) seems to be acting like and even looking like Google (on the results pages). WRDDHere's a quote, "The MSN Search ranking algorithm analyzes factors such as page contents, the number and quality of sites that link to your pages,..." Take a look at their "About site ranking" section here: http://search.msn.com/docs/siteowner....htm&FORM=WRDD

All the major engine want to have a clean look in the way they display results. In addition, the public is accustom to the look of google. As far as the way the algotrithm shows results, it should be vary from google's engine. If would defeat the purpose of a different engine, if it was the same look and results.

Well, just because they use the same factors does not mean they rank them the same way. What are they supposed to do create some new ranking feature that Google has not allready thought of?

I notice a different in results personaly.

I noticed that too. MSN is just like Google, only without filters.

I'm finding MSN to be giving much better results than Google in terms of relevance and if the latest search engine market share is anything to go by, I'm not the only one!
