does anyone know when the SE's update their directory.

that's a good question. sorry I don't know the answer but just to say I'd also like to know. For example, how often does Google update..it's still holding on to cached pages of my site when I now have a whole new site online.

google does its update end of every month.

Yes, Google updates every month usually between the 25th-31st.

If you are linked to FROM a page with a PR7 or better, you can get in the index much faster (considered the "freshbot.") in a couple days. These new quick listings could change after the complete re-indexing...
