is there a list of free static directories?

We have placed a list of mostly static shopping directories as a resource for promotion on our shopping site. Check it out and LMK if it's helpfull in any way

That is the most important one in which to be listed. You have to be patient though; it usually takes a few months to get listed. Google uses this directory as their "map of the internet". From there the googlebot hops link to link around sites to index the rest of the internet. Get listed there, and then get lots of incoming links to your site. The spiders will come to your site in droves.
