Hi,

Just enquiring as to whether a long title will help with search engine listing...obviously as if it is too long only part of it is shown at the top of the browser...

Nope a long title can be a disadvantage

SEs appear to only use the first 10 words of the title for ranking and if you keep below 60 characters you will get the whole title shown on the SERP page.

long titles won't help, but using different titles per page while incorporating keywords will...

A short title I believe is better. More focus will be put onto those few words rather than it being spread over a number of words.
