Hello again,
No dmoz (open directory) do not supply results to msn.
Sites in MSN appear in this order:
Popular Search Topics (Direct Hit)
Featured Sites (Includes reviewed sites, RealNames, and MSN sponsors)
Web Directory Sites (LookSmart sites)
Web Pages (Inktomi Sites)
MSN is now displaying Overture listings as well. For queries using specific search terms as identified by MSN and Overture, three Overture-served results appear in a separate section labeled "sponsored sites" directly below the "featured sites" listings on a result page.
Inktomi are great if you need to optimise a site for msn as they respider your site every 48 hours making it easier for you to see what helps to gain a higher listing. It costs 39$ for the url (one page) and you can submit your site
here Dont forget that looksmart results will appear before inktomi listing, however if you can find a keyphrase that isnt a match in looksmart then you can gain a number one spot pulled from inktomi.
Ref free listings in yahoo, Im certain that once a site is listed free, the site will remain in their index .
The yearly fee is for commercial sites that use the paid review $299. and is the only way a commercial site will get in the directory.
Hope this helps a little
