Ive managed to get my site upto 3rd place on msn for 'lincolnshire web design', but on any other search engine it is no where to be seen. Any ideas?

Maybe it's because msn is acknowledging 29 links to your site but google and yahoo are not.

Thats exactly the problem. Every search engine should have different tools but to tell people to get as many links as possible and then not acknowledge most of them is just sheer insanity.GOOGLE is good for doing this.
