Tech...I'm afraid SEO is a tad more complicated than that...but there's plenty or articles around to get you started on it if you're so inclined.
The company that I work for have their site listed in Dmoz...though it did take a while for it to happen, mainly because it is Human editors working as volunteers that work through the categories.
If you don't get listed, fast DON'T resubmit, because sites are processed in order received, and if you resubmit, you move to the back of the que, your impatience hurts you!!
Now that we're listed in Dmoz, we've improved in Google, and got into the Google Directory also. It's been worth the wait.
I personally think Dmoz is much better than Yahoo...it costs nothing, influences the Google results AND gives you an extra description sentance in Google - giving you a bigger listing than many of your competitors
This makes you seem more important than them, and I'm sure influences potential customers, especially if your description text is optimised to appeal to them.
