The Other Search Engines

Has anyone had any success for a free listing? I think they wont list you unless you pay. It's not like they don't make enough on banner advertisements.

I've never managed to get in on a free listing, and I started submitting a long time ago. It's not as important as it used to be, though. Yahoo stopped relying on its own directory as much a few months ago, and more of the results are from Google.

I have never gotten into Yahoo's directory...finally just gave up.

But I do know that you can get into Google's directory with a free listing...only it takes quite a while. But at least it works.

I don't even bother with the Yahoo directory any more. The results from the Web Search are all from Google.

To get the directory listing, you actually have to select directory listings, and who'se gonna do that over Google Web Search results?

Personally, all I can see that you get for your $299 is a high-ranking link...and you can get plenty of those for free if you get involved in some productive link swaps.

As far as free listings, non-commercial sites are meant to be able to get this, though how much this is true or fable I don't know. I've never submitted a site for free, so I don't know
