It's not perfect, but it's certainly interesting.

I like their concepts, I like the differences and with some tweaking I think this could be the next big thing. Unlike Google and all the rest, they've obviously done a huge amount of research and actually listen to what users have to say.

Good on them!

Snap does seem like a pretty cool idea. Last night I came across another interesting concept. Yahoo has revived AllTheWeb with AllTheWeb Livesearch. It gives you related terms as you type and updates the results as you type more.

So, do we think it's gonna be big?

Competitor for Google? Not impossible. Competitor for Ask Jeeves? Definately!

By the way, there's a fantastic competition going on here for the marketing launch contest of snap. Whilst it's a shame the worst ideas get plenty of publicity, it all makes very interesting reading.

By the way, if you want to vote for my ideas, they're here

Well I doubt anyone will be knocking out the big 3 in search. Even AOL and Ask have a lot of work in front of them if they want to compete. I think there are enough people though who's rather find something different and there are a lot of niche search engines and general search engines offering more that many will survive just find.

I know I tend to use Google exclusively. Mostly because I'm familiar enough with how it works to always find what I'm looking for. I'm sure I could find what I'm looking for with any search engine though. As a webmaster and seo I'm naturally concerned most with the big 3 and figure I may as well use them so I can learn as much as I can.

There are a few smaller search engines, Snap included, that do look pretty interesting and I've been thinking of experimenting with them more just to see what they can do and if I think they can help me find things better or faster.
