ok...my submission to the Inktomi search engine didnt turn out to awful hot...Alton ...

Search Term(s) Avg Position
alton (?) I stopped searching after about 160
alton illinois (30)
st louis personals ads ( 26 )
alton belle (8) This isnt to bad
alton free personals (2) This term is never searched

I really want to get alton ranked in top ten...any suggestons for index page?

Which URL did you use? www.Altonpost.net?

I have not had much luck with Inktomi optimization but the good think is that you can make changes and then resubmit and get reindexed in a couple days.

Your results on Google for the altonpost.net suggestions I made for you:

Keywords:
alton classifieds - Number 5 (also number 4 for classifieds .php page).
alton illinois classifieds - Number 1
alton illinois personals - Number 1

google hasnt been reindexed yet...since I switched the page.its still the old ranking...so hopefully alton will have a nice ranking there ..yes...I submitted altonpost.net/index to inktomi

Ps...should I maybe take all those free links out? to make it more general for alton ?

and If none of them linked backed to you then yes.

hmm..some of them linked back...should I keep those even though it doesnt have anything to do with alton or st.louis ?
Could that have been what was hurting my ranking with inktomi because it was confused about my theme ?
