I will soon be using some pay-per-click services and am stumped on how I should go about choosing correct keywords. I know that they should relate to my site, and what I do, but how do I know which to use, and how many I should use. I would appreciate any suggestions or help.
Thanks alot.

Hi Brian,

You can try the Overture Keyword Suggestion tool:
http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/

Or if you are looking to spend a little bit of money, I recommend www.wordtracker.com

It is up to you how many you want to use, but I suggest only use the words that are most relavant to yuor site, otherwise you may be paying for people to visit your site that are not really interested in your content.

I recommend being very selective.

for example you will have to pay more per click to get mainstream terms ie: "web design". However "small business web design" will probably be less expensive and the traffic driven to your website more targeted.

Effectively if done correctly and kept ontop of you can be upto ten times more productive than the other companies you are competing against for the same keywords.

Dont use auto bid, try to find a rival who does, you get their bid increased to the maximum on a friday night, then reduce your bid to the lowest possible to still be in second.
They may be paying 40c per click when you pay 12c per click to be listed directly after them. And the best part is they probably wont notice till sometime on Monday. I have got rid of lot of competition on my keywords using these tactics. Its brutal but it works.
