you can sign-up with Overture or someone that offer's them and when you choose your words it will tell you how much you should be bidding

If its for hosting you are looking at around £2+ per click to get decent results. We have tried both google adwords and overture and to be honest they both seemed a waste of money.

Adwords isn't the best way for hosting. The worst thing about Adwords is competitors trying to be clever and using your company name as an Adword entry. Idiots - If people are searching for a specific company, they don't want anything else. Whenever I find a company that has done this I always find it is a good policy to give them a quick courtesy click to charge their account!

I use adwords for my business and you really need to be on the first page, it is the only thing that has worked for us, however we still do spend over £1000 per month for this, and that gets us in the top 3/4.

Overture are okay but dont produce anywhere near as much traffic as google adwords.

When you produce your ad for adwords they do estimate where you will be on the page when you set your clickthrough amount.
