i have seen that search engines and mainly google counts much on names of files and folders (www.mydomain.com/webhosting/solutions.htm)

but i did not read for that in any seo tips website .
what do you think? of caurse that matters but the question is if its worth it to build a site folders having in mind the best keywords.

Yes it does. They give a certain amount of weight to keywords in directory names and file names, you bet!

Every little bit counts. This includes folder and file names.

Definetly!.... That's why SEO is always better built from the ground up.... Keep your keywords in your folders and files. Don't just stick them anywhere.... Acuratly describe your destinations for the best results....

If you have a folder for sports/mits.html

make sure it's for mits....

Seems that way to me! I originally had my site divided into subfolders and since playing around with putting all pages in the main folder I've seen sales plummet (lucky this isn't my main job!!!)

lets say we have a phrase like " soccer sports" and a page who is dedicated to this phrase with content about soccer..

do you think is better to use a url like www.site.com/soccer_sports.html or puting this html page on a folder called sports or soccer sports... something like www.site.com/soccer_sports/soccer_sports.html or www.site.com/sports/soccer_sports.html ?

i have seen some SE counts much on folders names , do you think that the deeper is better? or we are in danger to get banned from a SE?

You might get better results if you had it at www.site.com/sports/soccer

Just a suggestion
