I am using Dreamweaver. Frontpage is easier but it fills the pages with useless codes.

Hands down Dreamweaver, you can accomplish a good amount of coding through Dreamweaver especially when you adjust the coding preferences rather than just using the default settings.

My favorite editor is Dreamweaver.

But only in the source code view. I like the syntax highlight and also the option to press CTRL + Z (for e.g. 20 times).

I always say: Never let a programm do the job from you =)

The sourcecode from programms like Frontpage, GoAlive, Dreamweaver etc. is terrible.

I learned HTML with the use of Notepad and other editor has, of course, given much ease and all. I use Dreamweaver most of the time now but for simple manipulation of codes, I use notepad. I haven't really tried any other

I used Microsoft Word and Publisher as WYSIWYG editors for my first several websites! Talk about adding a bunch of code in the background! Now I use Dreamweaver CS3, and it is obviously better.

However, I can still see where an office manager wanting to design his/her own simple webpage, Publisher would get the job done. Most offices already have this software on their computers.

It's hard for me to imagine how anyone could use Dreamweaver happily without having a little coding background. If you ever want to erase the old keywords and put in new ones, I don't think there is any way to do that other than getting into the code. There are other things with Dreamweaver that I don't think people could really appreciate unless they understood the html reasons behind it. On the other hand, editors like Contribute and NVu seem to work like word processors and handle a lot of the coding issues in the background. I prefer the control that Dreamweaver gives me. It's the best of both worlds for me.

I like to use Dreamweaver, but, if I'm doing something simple then I always use Notepad.

I started with Notepad because that is the only way to learn what are you doing... Now I use Dreamweaver but only in code view.

Some said Dreamweaver is the best, I've tried it but for me Visual.Net is the best.

I have 2 favorites, I use both Front Page and Coffee Cup HTML Editors. I have very good luck with both. I am hoping to soon get Dream Weaver. I have heard some really great stuff about it. As soon as I have the money, I plan to buy one.
