How do i know if my site is search engine only and can't be used in a directory? as " Do not submit sites that are created only for Search Engines." was a terms/condition of submitting to a free directory. I suppose pretty much all sites can be used in directories?

Well is your site designed to be viewed by visitors, or only by search engines?

Sites designed to be viewed ONLY by search engines are generally a waste of time and aren't useful for visitors at all - that's why free directories often don't want them.

As long as your site is designed to be viewed by visitors as well as being indexed by search engines, then things are fine.

They are talking about "MFA" sites which are sites created for the sole purpose of showing Google Adsense adverts, hence the name MFA, Made For Adsense

Yeh that's probably it then.

My advice was probably stupid in that case.

Nope, the advice was bang on, Make sites for real people.

You were probably thinking of such things as "doorway" or "gateway" pages, and "shadow domains"
