Hi guys

I was just wondering if anyone has ever applied to be an editor of Dmoz, I have thought about it ?

I haven't, but one or two editors suggested I apply. If you do want to apply the best advice is read their guidelines for editors and then read them again and maybe read them a third time. Make sure you really understand what they want.

Try applying for a less popular category at first and you may not want to mention anything about seo or marketing. Let them know you're applying because you want to help make the directory better and not because you want to promote a site at some point. Also expect them to find out if you're applying because promoting sites is your real motivation.

That's great. I have submitted my url for dmoz and have been waiting for a long time for a positive reply. Now I have a friend in vangogh who, I think will definitely do a favor for me by hastening the inclusion process

mr.vangogh will be removed as an editor for doing such 'favours'.

If its the site in your signature, then do not hold your breath for a listing. Its probably not listable as it appears to me to be MFA

Did anyone actually read my first post? I thought I clearly answered the question of whether or not I applied to be an editor by saying I had never applied to be an editor. I'm not a DMOZ editor.

One or two editors I've met at forums suggested that I should apply, but I never did. I didn't feel like I could devote enough time to it and that wouldn't have been fair to the DMOZ or myself.
