I never had issues with spam until recently, I purchased manual directory submission from a guy at DP, and since then I have been bombarded with spam.

I cant blame the person, since I have seen good results since then. Now I have a separate e-mail ID for use with submissions

You are right dude. Many directory owners (not all) are spammers. That's why I have started using a separate e-mail address for directory submissions.

yah! the first I create gmail account and started to submit my site to different directories, I began to receive spam emails. Good thing the gmail account I created is intended for my seo not for personal use.

most don't but just a few are enough to get overloaded with spam ... just use a trow-away email address for it and move on ...

I always end up using a trash account for directories or any freebie ads that I end up running online. Its always better safe than sorry esp. when you gotta sift through all that junk mail.

Some of directories asking for registration before submission. We do not know the purpose behind it.
