Hi, my name is Vanbao and I have just spent a lot of time and effort to develop a web business directory for small business. My challenge now is how to get the names out there and how to get the traffic to the site.

It is called Gomaika and the url is http://www.gomaika.com

If any of you have any ideas, I would love to hear.

If any of you would like to partner with me on this website, I am interested in that too.

Beside the fact that you are posting in wrong forum, your copywrite says 2001-2008 and yet your domain was registered in 2005

Your links are extremely un-friendly and if I were site owner, I would not submit my link to your directory.
As a visitor I would have hard time to figure out, what is that site is all about based on site description alone. 2 – 4 words look more like site title and not like description.

It looks like you are using Google API to search and in your index and if my guess is correct then stop worry about PR (stop worry about PR Period) and start worry about content

just like optimization of a website you need to get your link out there. Submit your directory to other free directories (most directories have a business directory category). PR will come with time and with quality backlinks so be carefull who you put in your directory. The higher quality sites you have in your directory, the faster search engines will see you as a quality directory.

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum. I am new here so trying to learn my way around.

As for the copy right, I did not even notice that. I copied and pasted from a old site and forgot to change.

Can you explain more why my links are un-friendly. If there is something I can make it more friendlier, I will try.

Can explain more why I should stop trying to worry about PR if I use Google API. I don't quite understand.

un-friendly means your links point to your internal pages and not to sites or in simple words your directory is totally useless to submit because site owner won't get back link from your site.

As to PR, stick around and you will learn why PR is useless.

Sure you can place a link to point back to your website. Here is a sample

http://www.gomaika.com/Tamarind-Tree-Restaurant.html

Also, if you look at the menu column to the right, the second link says "visit website". This is it will link back to the owner's website.

SE sees http:// www gomaika com / Tamarind-Tree-Restaurant.html as link to your site
http // Tamarind-Tree-Restaurant tld SE would seen as link to site owned by submitter

"visit website" is not keywords link as for example Tamarind Tree Restaurant and it is not the same
