What are your experiences about internet directories?
Have they been successful in bringing traffic to your site? Have they affected your Google page rank?

It's a wiki-based site you can add articles about your business for free. I bet it's more effective than 10 link directory submissions.

my experience on directories i get some backlinks on it, the traffic is not that big.

Directories are good for backlinks (mostly) and traffic (sometimes). Make sure that you submit only to the directories which provide "rel=follow" backlink.

in my experience web deirectory does not diverting traffic but still that is a good resource for backlinks, so do directory submission for only backlinks do not aspect traffic from directories

Google weighs less value on most directories, but there are still some that really help improve Page Rank like JoeAnt, DMOZ, BestOfTheWeb.com, the Yahoo Directory, and Business.com. I suggest finding 10 really good high PR and well known directories and setting a simple $1000 budget to get listed on those directories. Directories are only useful for getting one way back link, they did not give any traffic at all..
