Agreed! I heard of one webmaster that said it took 42 months to get listed in DMOZ. He got listed but this just goes to show it can literally take FOREVER!. This is a great (probably the best) directory so it is well worth the time to submit but after that just forget about it because its going to be at least 4-6 months before you see your site in there.

I am still waiting on a site i submitted 4 months ago.

If you are really impatient you can try this site:
http://www.dmoz-resources.com/zone/f...splay.php?f=13

They may or may not do a status check on your site but you can ask. Be sure to read their rules though as this is an extremely strict forum seeing as they are somewhat providing a service that is frowned upon by DMOZ.

I always heard people claiming like this. Actually, I also submitted my site at DMOZ 1 year ago but got no result until now. If I were you, forgot DMOZ. There are lot of directories out there that can also help your site.

The editors of the dmoz are very choosy and atleast it takes sometimes more than year to add your website. Try to submit your website after 3-4 months.

Some directory upload your listing automatically. Not DMOZ. DMOZ review each listing MANUALLY. They are really populare and probably get thousands of listings everyday. Imagine how many people it would take to look at them all quickly? That's why you will never show up there quickly. Although I sbumitted a site and it got listed in a month, but it was very geographicly accurate so it might have helped.
who knows?
