None, because I have very little control over what people I don't know who run other sites do. I try to produce good content to entice attention, and the occasional link that comes with it.

The incoming link has no value whether you use the same description or not. A free for all site with 10,000 outgoing links to every web site they've ever heard of is pretty obvious to even the dumbest of bots.
No human traffic of any value ever comes from directories. The owner of the directory may look at your site before approving it, but with no intention of buying any of your products, clicking your ads, subscribing to your RSS feed, or anything else that would benefit you. People don't browse directories looking for sites to buy things from, or even to visit.
