Web link directory submission questions!

Here, I would like to raise some questions on how to increase web link directory submission efficiency and mutually beneficial practice exchange. What incoming link building techniques do you use in practice? Do you prefer manual or automatic submission? What directories do you submit websites to? Paid or free and why? As for me, I suggest the special attention should be paid on description when submitting website to directories! Different website descriptions should be used for each directory. Don’t use the same description for several directories! Search engines can accept it as duplicate content and incoming link will have no value! For this reason I do manual submission only. Also I think it is expedient to perform directory on regular basis! If you can add something or share your practical experience are welcome to go on this post!

None, because I have very little control over what people I don't know who run other sites do. I try to produce good content to entice attention, and the occasional link that comes with it.

No. Both are equally useless.

All directories are paid. Time = money.

The incoming link has no value whether you use the same description or not. A free for all site with 10,000 outgoing links to every web site they've ever heard of is pretty obvious to even the dumbest of bots.

No human traffic of any value ever comes from directories. The owner of the directory may look at your site before approving it, but with no intention of buying any of your products, clicking your ads, subscribing to your RSS feed, or anything else that would benefit you. People don't browse directories looking for sites to buy things from, or even to visit.

- a directory is good that i can se my added link in the list of inlink yahoo after maximum 2 weeks
- you must be prepared to add your site in the directory.
this means take a list of url, title, description of your link.
-if a directory is backlink directory, it's not matter that the directory is free or paid

All to often directories are just configured as a means of gaining backlinks.
I have an SEO directory as part of my site and many of my blog post reference the directory as a resource.

For example: I have an article on submitting your site to directories and from within the article it links to a a few of my directories pages that have list of varies forms of directories such as, General directories, niche directories, blog directories and RSS directories.

Anyone reading my article on Directories may click through to my list of directories and start submitting their site. In this way the directory becomes a resource for my blog.

I think it is time that we expect more from directories and incorporating Blog articles that reference varies directories pages as a resource should become a must.

you should always try to check which free directories are actually indexed by google before wasting your time submitting to them.
