I would like raise this question to help other people to get their website listed in DMOZ! If you have something to say if you have any advices to share with us just do this in this post!

1) Have a site with unique theme and content different than the already listed sites.

2) Submit & forget. They are usually 6-12 months behind depending on niche.

1 - Having a decent site.
2 - Submiting it to the proper category and giving good descriptions.
3 - Having a lot of patience.

ok, let say you got listed... then what?

here our my tips:
get indepth with the description and make it unique
submit to the best section
use a good title
have good theme on site to
do not check the directory and submitting to check if it got listed, you will go crazy waiting

Is it possible to understand somehow if your website has been rejected by DMOZ? As far as I know they send no notifications about this!

if after 3 years your site is not in, then you are out

The main problem most people face IF they have a quality site is they don't follow the guidelines. You need to find the most appropriate category, then follow the rules for submitting, it will take a few weeks or months, but if you have a quality site you will get listed. If the dmoz editor sees the site as not worthy then you haven't got a chance, keep adding more quality content then try submitting again.
