Yes, just submit to the appropriate category rather then doing the research of which page has more pagerank, etc.
Some pages on the directories (on differnt categories) have different pagerank but it is a waste of time to go through the pages.
When you submit to the right category, all the descriptions of other sites in the category make your link relevant to the content. Plus, there are more chances of getting approved if you submit to the right category. =)
And I think some directories would also reject your submission if its not in the right category..especially the ones edited in real time by moderators.

good directory will not only delete submission but will blacklist butthole who made submission as well
