Of course it's the fault of the site! It's not your right to be listed in the ODP, the brief for editors is:

and how about list of sites that the ODP does not generally include.
As for the site in question I found 2 mirror sites plus several others using exactly the same text in a different layout.
It not DMOZ editors that are "lazy or disaffected", it's the website owners/operators that are lazy.
Create a unique or at least different site and it will have a chance of being listed in directories that actually care about their content!!
