Once that you paid for the directories it is sure that you get listed. I think its more ok to go on high pr directories and well known directories.

Directory is for free and not for paid, don't waste your money on it...

why should you spend money on directories, although paid listings will get you on top of the list for your category, this doesn't mean that you can receive a good amount of traffic like what most paid directories promise and also free and paid listings are on the same page which means you get the same amount of link juice.

The only benefit of paying for directories is quick approval compared to free listings which may take months before acceptance.

It's your choice but REMEMBER, when you submit to free directories (human edited ones) you will never know when your submission will be approved and there is less guarantee that your listing will become permanent.

Better avoid paid directories. Try to get quality, theme related one way link. Single link of that kind is better than links from 100 directories.

It depends how well they are edited really, if they are human edited and dont let every site that submits get listed then some of them are ok, as theres no point you getting a link from a site thats full of sex and viagra sites !

If your target visitor demographic are the people who are visiting those sites then that's exactly where you would want to be listed.

If you will submit your links on paid directories be sure that directory has good reputation and has high PR. Yahoo directory is also a good paid directory.
