I used EasySubmits, but not much happened, google didn't show the submitted URL at all in webmaster center, though some searches found me in a few directories. I did start getting a few more fits maybe 50 to 100 extra a day but nothing huge. Maybe directory submission isn't what it used to be. I did find google started indicing slightly more of my site, perphaps they amount of url they index on a site, depends on the ammount of incoming page rank, but that just a guess.

Have to add that my Alexa ranking drop a lot just lot. So maybe it is worth it, after all.

It can take time for your listings to be approved. Also, I would recommend looking on some sites where new directories are announced and submit to a few new ones each week. Over time it will definitely help some, but certianly do other things to get links to.

Look for directories that approve links faster and submit to those. After approval, locate your listing on the directory you submitted and submit the link to google so that you are helping your self.

Keep on submitting on hr pr directories that has auto approved functions and also try to use other marketing avenues.

Normally Directory submission will take time to get approved. So we should submit the site in fast approval good quality directories. These links will help a lot,,,,,,,, In the same time we should do the other methods also.

You should also consider the PR and quality of each directory your submitting to.And also the factors such as: link farms, no bad neighborhood, no free word in the title.

Thanks everyone! I just submitted my site to 20 PR5 directories using EasySubmits. Very resourceful and helpful thread. I never used directories submitting before, as I read everywhere except here to be completely useless. Again, Thank You!

Not all directories would have your link active since the approval time for each directory is different. Secondly 450 is not a big number. I have seen 3000 plus directory submissions done.

It took 2000 directory submission for me to see any rise in my ranking

I don't think he submitted those 2000 links manually, must have used an auto-submitter or something.

Just kidding! I really want to know how he was able to do that. I have never heard of any successes with directories so far.
