Hi, I have over the years submitted many weblinks to DMOZ.org but I have never received any reply let alone a placement. The links in many categories also seem outdated. My question is if anyone has had any more luck with DMOZ?

As you can see you are not the first and frankly nobody else cares! DMOZ is not any kind of magic for Google results, just submit and forget it!

Dmoz, means FcukALL

Submit it to the sections that you think it should be on and then forget about it.

Its a very old site, poorly maintained(as you said) and has been forgotten about.

Google , Yahoo, Bing, really dont care about it anymore.

I gave up on DMOZ. I've submitted many sites and after years they were never approved.

there are lots of approving issue in dmoz, getting included in dmoz is not easy. I suggest once you submit it don't ever try to do it again because your site would have a low possibility to be included.

Too many alternatives...I do not bother to jump through their hoops for a "link"

I've only ever got 1 site listed and the review time was over 6 months. I think it really depends on individual editors and how much spam each category receives...
